Almost April

Time is moving along nicely here. March is almost past and Spring seems to have arrived. It was 65 yesterday and looks to be a nice day again today. I hope the snow is over. In April I get to go to Germany for a class for 19 days. That will be good. I'm ready to get out of here for a little while. Camp Bondsteel is nice, but you start to feel cooped up after a while. Things are going well in the platoon. The soldiers seem to be enjoying themselves. As you can see from the pictures that I post, I try to keep the mood light around here.

April is a big month for me and Angelea. We have purchased a new house in Little Rock. It is kind of weird to know that when I get home I'll be living in a house I've only seen in pictures. Oh well, my wife and I have the same tastes so I'm confident I'll love it.

Well, it is getting about lunch time and I am hungry.. :-)

Until next time.

SSG Wilson

SSG Wilson, one of my squad leaders, turned 40 on St. Patrick's Day. We threw him a surprise party.

As you can see, we try and keep it fun.

School Visit

One of the things we do here is volunteer at local schools. We feel that it is important to teach the children of Kosovo about the world outside. Plus these kids are so darn cute. One of the things we learned about the children of Kosovo, is that they are very intelligent.

Me with some of the kids during a break.

An Awesome painting done as a tribute to 9/11

Out On Patrol

Often while on patrol, we will stop an local establishments to eat. This is part of how we help the people of Kosovo and their economy.

A so called "Kosovo Harley"

Here are a couple of pictures of what is referred to as a "Kosovo Harley". People make "vehicles" out of anything around here. It is really quite inventive.

It was 65 here yesterday. And this is what it looks like today. I guess it is like Arkansas. If you don't like the weather, just stick around and it will change.

Another Month Down

Well, it is March. Another month down. I have officially been away from work and home for a year this month. 16 March 2005 I left home for Augusta, GA for OBC. I have been on active duty since. My time here is going by fairly quick though.

The weather is improving, the snow is almost over. I've been in Europe since mid November and I have seen snow every day since. When I get home, I don't care if I never see snow again. I am starting to hate it. I am very excited about the coming of warmer weather.

Things get busy this month. People start attending schools and taking a 4 day pass to Bulgaria. It will help the time go by fast.

I hope all is well with you all.
